Samsung screen repair is still the most demanded repair service. Therefore, screen breakage is one of the most frequent breakdowns in mobile phones. It is very easy that when suffering a blow from a fall or excessive pressure, the screen of our smartphone is damaged. Mobile screens are usually composed of several layers (Protection layer, Touch screen and LCD screen). Sometimes, it is not necessary to do a complete screen change; just replacing the glass is sufficient to make the phone functional. This is the case with many models of Samsung mobile phones in which it is possible to replace only the glass and thus repair the phone at a much more affordable price.
Replacing the glass is a much less expensive repair than replacing the entire screen. If your Samsung mobile transmits an image and also the touch screen responds properly, you may only have to change the glass.
How Do You Change The Curved Glass of a Samsung Mobile?
Replacing the glass is a more complex and technical Samsung screen repair than it may seem at first since it is a component that is very well fixed to the rest of the layers of the screen. After changing the glass, your Samsung will be like new, but only if this work is done with the right equipment and by expert technicians. In this post, we will explain how we do the repair in our laboratory… something that we have achieved after many hours of research and testing. Thanks to this technique, it is possible to change the glass to all Samsung mobiles with curved screens (Samsung s6 edge, Samsung s6 edge Plus, Samsung s7 edge, Samsung s8, Samsung s8 Plus, Samsung s9, Samsung s9 Plus, Samsung note 9, Samsung note 8 or Samsung note 7)
Environment, Machinery And Tools Necessary for Samsung Screen Repair
To undertake Samsung screen repair, it is necessary to use a series of specialized and good quality tools and materials. It is necessary to have the complete equipment in a spacious and comfortable laboratory or work area that has all the necessary safety measures to work safely.
Step 1: Separate The Glass, Display And Chassis
Materials And Tools to Separate The Glass
- Freezer -180º
- Plastic letter
- Anti-burn gloves
- UV light
- Vacuum pump
Separation Process for Glass Separation
First, we put the screen with the frame in the freezer at a temperature of -180º for three and a half minutes. Please mind that it is a special freezer that allows reaching these temperatures and is designed to work with electronic devices. Once cooled, we first separate the glass from the screen with the help of a plastic letter and always using anti-burn gloves. Once the glass is separated, we will also need to separate the display from the chassis, so it will be necessary to cool the device again for 2 minutes and make the separation.
Step 2: Cleaning The OCA
- Special power tool
- Strong liquid
- Special mold
We clean the OCA, likewise adhesive that joins the glass and the LCD in this part of the process. It is also a delicate process and must be done carefully with a tool designed for this job. To start the cleaning process, remove the adhesive film and, once removed, apply a special liquid for this purpose. Both the tool and the glue are highly specialized products that are typically imported from other countries. It is important to note that the liquid is a robust product and must be handled with care and all precautions. Also, it is highly recommended to use an extractor.
Step 3: Lamination – Mounting The Repaired Screen
Materials And Tools Needed
- Dust-free space
- UV light
- Autoclave machine
Once we have cleaned the LCD display well, it is time to reassemble the screen, and the process begins in a dust-free space where using UV (ultraviolet) light, we can place the glass on top of the adhesive film, OCA, next to the screen in mold. Once the mold is closed, it is introduced into the laminating machine for 3 minutes which, applying pressure, will correctly join all the layers and leave the screen well sealed.
After this, we will proceed to laminate the AMOLED and the glass, again in the mold, to finally do a good cleaning of the screen with the help of UV light that will facilitate the detection of dust particles. Furthermore, It is time to remove the plastic protector from the glass and stick it to the screen inside the mold to do the final lamination in the laminating machine. In the last step, we use an autoclave machine whose mission is to eliminate possible bubbles (if they exist) from the screen. For the operation of the autoclave machine, we need a compressor and a vacuum pump.
